This little girl had an allergy to dust. She cried daily from the pain and itching in her eyes. Her mother did not know that she could get eye drops to help. We take eye drops for granted in the United States, but if this little girl continued on without eye drops, she would eventually lose her vision. Our medical team provided eye drops for her and told her mother where to get more eye drops in the future. Our team does more than just eye surgeries, they do a lot of health education in the villages to help prevent further eye disease and complications.

We have one surgeon and two surgical assistants along with two patients in the ambulance during surgery. It is a tight fit, but it works!

We have a beautiful farm where our medical team lives. There, they tend the crops and teach people from surrounding villages modern farming techniques.

Technically, our patients can see immediately after the fifteen minute surgery, but they have to wear an eye patch for 24 hours so that they incision can heal. Here, is a woman walking to her tent as she waits to get un-patched.
